I found this picture while viewing our past beach vacation photos (serious cabin fever alert!). I can’t recall what exactly happened, but Jadon was not very happy – to say the least! Thought you’d enjoy it!

Some of you may know that I’m a full-time stay at home dad for my adorable 1 year old son Jadon. I’m also the proud papa to a not-so-adorable 8 month-old Lab named Eoghan. The reason he isn’t adorable is not because of his appearance, but rather, his demeanor or lack thereof. Let’s just say that while Jadon and I may be content to play with blocks for several hours at a time, Eoghan has the attention span of a six year old ADHD kid who hasn’t taken his Ritalin. I’m serious… he is CRAZY! He’s a puppy after all, and puppies need to run!
Yesterday, I bundled Jadon up and we all took a walk into the woods near our home. It was a nice day, and the sun helped to take the chill off of the 32 degree temperature. While Eoghan had the time of his life running around the woods, Jadon and I hunted for some nice winter landscapes. Here is the result, please let me know what you think! (for photo geeks: I’m messing with HDR processing.)
Brad (my brother), along with Jadon, my dog Eoghan, and I made a very cold hike out to the rocky overlook and powerlines at the top of Peter’s Mountain on the border of Middle Paxton and Halifax Townships.
The plan was hatched to expend some of the incredible puppy energy Eoghan has. Lately, he hasn’t had as much outdoor time because of all of the rain. Also, my brother was having a hankering to use his new Canon DSLR. So, with Jadon in a huge snowsuit and double layers, we ventured out.
I don’t usually display ‘artsy-fartsy’ pix on my website, but I’ll make an exception. Let me know in the comments what you think!

Brad modeling with his new obsession – he’s Canon’s answer to Ashton Kutcher (poster boy for Nikon…)

I loved the back light coming from the setting sun. Brad is standing next to a high-voltage power line.

Artsy-Fartsy warning! Some interesting things around the lookout area.

Eoghan standing on top of a large rock. He later slid down the side of this rock and jumped 6 feet to the ground below. Kept right on running…

More artsy-fartsy. I was enjoying the fungi hanging around during the winter. The branch on the right pic stuck out to me for it’s unique texture and shape.

Thanks for looking!

One of the awesome things about being a stay at home dad is watching Jadon explore and discover ‘his’ world!

So I’ve known DJ (short for Dale Jr.) for going on 11 years. After being around someone that long, you begin to notice things. Lots of weird things. His sense of fashion, for one. His tendency to go to great costs to get someone to laugh. His great impression of Bill Clinton. His formidable personality required an equally formidable counterpart to balance out the relationship. Thankfully that counterpart is the lovely Alicen. Not only is she slightly taller than DJ (a fact that she rubs in all of time…) she does not back down. I watched DJ finally meet his match.
Anyway, like most guys, DJ told me that he hated having his pictures taken. The session must’ve enamored DJ – Alicen told me I was hired for their wedding for sure! We went to a portion of the Harrisburg Greenbelt for their session. It’s a hidden gem of parks and connecting trails in Harrisburg.
Anyway, onto the pictures:
